Gyms are great places. Intricate exercise equipment is nifty. But both of those things can be expensive.
What if there was a way to lose weight, keep fit, and stay healthy without spending countless dollars on costly fitness centers and contraptions?
Well, there is a way, more than a few, actually, starting with taking a daily walk.
Remember calisthenics? Yep…well, they still work. Push-ups, jumping jacks, arm twirls. You know, all the regular moves. And none of them require not one piece of fancy exercise machinery excerpt your own human body.
Another thing that works really well is a mere walk around the block once every morning, afternoon or evening can do wonders for your heart and your overall health. Walking also reduces the stress on your knees caused by jogging or running.
And there are also other little jaunts and bends and twists and turns you can easily do around every nook and cranny in your house, condo, apartment, or room without even going outside.
Certainly, fresh air is always a wonderful thing, and we all should make an effort to get outside at the very least once a day.
But when inside, there are all sorts of ways to stay fit.
For example, when doing the laundry. If you keep the detergent on the floor, either in your utility room or the garage, wherever your washer and dryer is located, you can use both knees to bend down to the detergent box, reach for your favorite plastic container or cup, scoop up the right amount of detergent, stand up on both legs, without bending your back or shoulders over the detergent box, and just pour the detergent in the washer.
It’s not rocket science, peeps. And it doesn’t take a gym. But like any other worthwhile objective, “free exercise” still requires dedication, consistency, and stick-to-it-tive-ness. And of course, you should always check with your primary physician before starting or altering any exercise plan. But once you do, and you’re given the okay to try something new, which has really been staring you in the face your entire life, then you can let loose with the free way to exercise commence an all-new freeway path to a cost-effective path to staying fit and healthy.
And doing so is really about mindfulness and being aware of your surroundings, and utilizing your environment in the most positive, productive way, throughout the day. Whether you are a stay-at-home mom or dad, a freelance assignment world-traveler, or the CEO of a masterful, huge corporation, you can exercise for free while sitting at your desk, or hopping on that plane for those by-daily flights to Europe and back (lucky you!).
Either way, you can make it all work for you and your body — for free.
Just look around you. Watch what you’re doing each step of the way. Make those steps and those moves part of your exercise plan in the most simple and yes, fun ways.
Sure, go to the gym if you want and if you can afford it. Certainly, too, fancy fitness centers can also part of a wonderful social regimen to interact with humanity. But you can also do that at home with your significant other, or your friends, minus all that fancy, pricey equipment — again, for FREE.
